Meet Harbinder
A neighbour. A husband. A father. A voice for Ward 5.
This campaign is about our families, our neighbourhoods and the future we are building together in Aurora.
About Harbinder
Aurora is home.
For me, Aurora is not simply where I live. It is where my family is growing, where my children are making lifelong memories, and where I want to help build an even stronger community for generations to come.
I have proudly called Aurora home for the past 11 years and have lived in York Region for more than 30 years. As a husband and father to a young daughter and son, I understand the importance of safe neighbourhoods, well-maintained parks, reliable infrastructure, responsible financial decisions, and a community where families can thrive.
Professionally, I work as an Insurance Broker, helping individuals, families and business owners protect what matters most. My career has been built on listening carefully, solving problems, earning trust and providing honest advice. These are the same qualities I will bring to Town Council.
I am running for Ward 5 Councillor because I believe residents deserve a representative who is approachable, accountable and committed to listening before making decisions.
My goal is not simply to represent Ward 5 at Town Hall. My goal is to make sure residents feel heard, respected and informed while I advocate for thoughtful decisions that support our neighbourhoods today and for years to come.
“This is not about one person. This is about all of us, our families, our neighbourhoods and the community we are building together.”
Why I am running
Public service starts with listening.
Aurora has given so much to my family. It has given us a place to raise our children, build friendships and become part of an incredible community. I believe it is time to give back through dedicated public service.
Local government works best when it remains connected to the people it serves. That means listening before decisions are made, explaining those decisions clearly, and respecting every taxpayer dollar.
I want to be a representative who is present in the community, easy to reach and prepared to work with residents, local businesses, Town staff and community organizations to find practical solutions.
What guides me

These are the values Harbinder will bring to every conversation, decision and responsibility.

The issues facing Ward 5 are part of everyday life.
As a husband and father, Harbinder understands the priorities shared by families throughout Aurora: safe streets, beautiful parks, reliable infrastructure, responsible growth, strong local businesses and a community where children can thrive.
These are not abstract political issues. They are part of the daily lives of the people who call Ward 5 home.
